Statement of Beliefs

This statement of belief has become part of the general admission process and must be signed by each student for the purpose of acknowledge certain beliefs and philosophy of CCU. No one of these beliefs is forced on student at any given time. Student can respectfully ague, agree, or disagree with any class discussion without being penalized. Students are also cautioned to keep their disagreement in proper term due distraction to other students. Any unsatisfied disagreement must be put in writing to the Dean of School. Cornerstone Christian University teaches from the Bible, first, then from the textbook, taking other tools in consideration but not absolute. The only absolute text is the Bible.

WE BELIEVE…

1. A Christian University should be non-denominational and should be an environment where God’s people come to study the Scriptures and be taught the Word of God without pressure of doctrinal and personal differences. Learning is not about what we know, believe or don’t believe. Learning is more about of what we don’t know and don’t believe. If we already know and believe them, what’s the purpose of our learning!

2. A Christian University should grade its students based on their ability to do their work, understanding the content of their work, able to agree their point and belief scripturally in non bias context, and but not on personal doctrinal differences. There is only one truth, is either you’re incorrect or I am! So let’s the scripture interpret itself!

3. That God has believers in every church and every denomination and that no church is of absolute perfection. God make the ultimate decision as to whom he would bring into his kingdom, not us. You’ll be surprise who’s going to be next to you occupying an equally post.

4. That the Scriptures (both the Old and New Testaments) are verbally inspired of God, infallible, and that they are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice. Several factors must take into account when interpreting the scriptures (i.e. culture, language, timeline, Context, etc.). The Bible is a one size fit all but not the interpretation!

5. There is Only One true God, the Everlasting Father, The Consoler, The Prince of Peace, and Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6-7, I Cor. 8:4,6).

6. In the power of the Holy Spirit, which the Spirit of God that impacts believers to do the work of the Lord (Acts 1:8).

7. In the natural legible gift of speaking of other tongues as presented in Acts  2 at Pentecost, the prophetic ministries and in the gift of healing. Scripture clearly stated that the gift of other tongues is a sign not for believers but unbelievers. Not every believer has the same exact gift and if it’s a gift, it cannot be taught.

8. That Salvation is a gift offered to all mankind through Grace and the mercy of God but on anyone’s merit. However, like everything else in life, the conditions to salvation are acceptance, repentance, faith and obedience to the Word of God (conditions such as: endureth until the end, repent and be peptized, if you love me, do what I command you, abide in me so you can bring forth fruit, and much more). God certainly not going to force his salvation on people, so there must be a condition applies.

9. That all believers should study the Scriptures to show that they are “approved unto the Lord” and to “correctly divide the word of truth.” Believers need also to always be prepared to defend their faith.

10. That men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of the Lord Jesus Christ.

11. That all believers are called to a life of separation from all worldly and sinful places and alliances and unto a life of dedication to Jesus Christ.

12. That Cornerstone Christian University is the friendliest Christian university where you can study with no worry of your doctrinal beliefs being compromised with compromising the truth.
